The wooden screen was made in the year of “Bảo Đại XVII” (1931) during the Nguyễn Dynasty.

The wooden screen is made with mother-of-pearl, shaped like a book with a stand. The edge is intricately carved with flowers, leaves, and animals such as bats, mice, lizards, and birds. The main part of the wooden screen is carved with a dragon surrounding a tower. The two side parts are carved with landscapes, trees, flowers, and birds. The back of the wooden screen is engraved with the poem "Giới tử minh" in Chinese characters, with one side bearing the inscription "Bảo Đại XVII" (1931). The feet of the wooden screen are carved in a kneeling posture, and the base is adorned with bat motifs. This wooden screen at the Special National Landmark Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám is a vivid painting, and the poem "Giới tử minh" with the profound significance in addressing the relationship between parents and children, educating future generations. The wooden screen has remained intact and is one of the valuable artifacts at the Special National Landmark Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám."
